Tricks Trainers Trade

another simple idea that John Sleigh uses to add involvement to his training programs

Using video feedback

Trainees who are shown a video of themselves are more likely to focus on the negatives than gain an overall impression.  For presentation skills training turn the video camera on the audience so that the trainee can see how they react to the presentation.  They may be surprised to find that where the speaker was winging it, the audience was fidgeting. Where the item was rehearsed and well thought out, the audience was attentive.
