Activities conducted after the advertised completion time are competing for attention with concerns about missing transport, being late for appointments or being caught in rush hour traffic. Avoid the competition by announcing a completion time 30 minutes later than the course content warrants - and then sticking to it. Some of the 30 minutes will be used up by questions and reinforcement, better completion of evaluation and post-program contact planning. It also provides an opportunity for one - on - one between the trainer and the participants. The final impression will be of a well organized program and the last ideas raised will not be competing with concerns about picking up children from day-care.
